Update: Vinny has done it! He set off at 5:30 am and finally made home at 2:14am the next morning. Vinny you are awesome. He (and his wife Louisa) raised £450! for Muscular Dystrophy UK. Thank you.

Original post:

This weekend (or next if the weather report is too poor for safe cycling), family friend Vinnie Bailey will cycle 200 miles from his home in Southport to Carlisle and back again! He is the newest member of Team Bertie and we don’t mind admitting that we are in awe of someone who can cycle that far! Vinnie will be cycling for Bertie’s Buccaneers and the MDUK Ullrich CMD Appeal, in order to find a cure or therapeutic treatment for children like Bertie.

Vinnie (and his wife Louisa) are fundraising using a traditional paper sponsorship form (yes they still exist), so if you would like to sponsor him contact us via Facebook or email and we’ll let him know. This is an independent road ride, planned and organised by Vinnie and Louisa. They have even organised their own team of volunteer drivers to be on stand-by.

If you would like to take part in an organised or independent cycle ride of any distance for children or adults, ring your bike bell! N.B. Recently another family fund for MDUK had team members cycle from London to France dressed as Batman and Robin, so you can be as wacky as you like 🙂  info@bertiesbuccaneers.com
